|Toffee is a gorgeous girl who has experienced a difficult life, spending much of her time confined to a small crate, she missed out on the simple pleasures all dogs should receive like a full tummy, a garden to explore and someone to love. When Toffee arrived at The Lost Dogs Home she was treated by our Veterinary Team and placed under the care of our Behaviour Department to rebuild her confidence with people and new environments. Toffee was very unsure about unfamiliar people when she came into our care, over her time spent at The Home our staff have helped Toffee learn new, positive associations with people and handling. Toffee now loves nothing more than to spend time hanging out on the grass receiving facial massages. It is likely that Toffee has had limited experience and socialisation with other dogs, and she will need to be rehoused to family without any other pets. Toffee has unfortunately been returned by her previous adopters due to signs of distress when left at home alone. She has been diagnosed with separation anxiety and treated in our Behaviour Department. With the help of anti-anxiety medication Toffee is able to settle on her own but she will benefit from further ‘alone time’ training within the home. Toffee has had surgery to remove multi mammary tumours. New owners should be aware they may possibly reoccur and they will need to seek veterinary treatment if this is the case. If you are looking to provide this stunning princess with the home she has dreamed of then please contact us to make an appointment to meet with a member of the Behaviour Department.
